Day 1: All In For 2013

There’s this awesome feeling, of holding your journal in both hands for the last time, only to retire it and replace it with a new and blank one. It’s incredible.

Today, as I stow my now old journal, without reading a single page at that, and tear open the wrapping of my new one, please allow me to share with you some things that dawned on me I learned along the way:

  1. Don’t swim on quicksand; never a good idea. (But you do it all the damn time, don’t you?)
  2. Eat breakfast. (and make that ALWAYS.)
  3. If you can’t change something, you’ve got to accept it. (No ifs and buts!)
  4. BUST ASS. (Can you work like you mean it even just for once?)
  5. Fight the perennial state of mindlessness! (which is your forever state of mind, unfortunately.)
  6. Smile!(The Miracle of Suffering says it reflects mindfulness, which you don’t understand at all.)
  7. Stop wishful thinking and start making. (Yes, this means your manuscript, you lazy fuck.)
  8. Let go! (Too bad you’re OC.)
  9. Honesty is sometimes the worst policy. (Sigh.)
  10. Lessons are repeated until your stubborn ass learns them. (Good luck!)

I’m not sure if it’s a good thing, but this 2013, I’m all in. I have big goals and an even bigger will to capture them good. I’ve decided that it’s time to refuse imprisonment from the familiar. It’s time to rock the boat. Curious thing to see, if cats can fly. Stay tuned everyone, this New Year, shit’s about to get real.

Have an awesome New Year too! 😀

  4. I can totally relate… letting go will always and forever will be the hardest thing to do. (Partida, I am not OC. May pinaghuhugutan lang) 😀

    Happy New Year, PM 🙂

    • recently i’ve learned the value of staying in the moment. it makes sense; the present’s the only thing you can affect so might as well, right? lovely to see you again, miko. 🙂

  5. I was thinking about buying a journal today pero nanghihinayang ako gumastos. I just miss writing on paper. Tas diba mas masarap magsulat pag maganda yung paper na sinusulatan? I don’t know what I will do. Natetempt ako -___-

  6. Happy New Year! I wish you the best this 2013. I haven’t scribbled my new year’s goals and resolutions yet, but maybe later when I’m in the quiet of my office.

    • thank you, sheng. i wish you the same. i have not written down stuff i want to accomplish this year too! but now that you’ve mentioned to it, i will see to it that i do it before the day ends. i hope your year be filled with awesomeness. 🙂
