What It Is: A collection of questions and answers from the Formspring page of Ramon Bautista, Bakit Hindi Ka Crush ng Crush mo is highly social, every bit like reading a comment exchange on a post on your news feed on Facebook. The topics are focused mainly on love and relationships, with a little bit on studying and failing too. There is not much to a narrative, simply a collection of thoughts and conversations between the author and visitors to his Formspring account.
What I Liked About It: Highly entertaining, Bakit Hindi Ka Crush ng Crush mo is a good window to view what the young ones are thinking these days regarding stuff that matter to them, which is naturally nothing else than love and sometimes school. Witty, straightforward, and stripped to the bare essentials are the responses of the author to the concerns of these people.
I appreciate the guts, audacity, and humor of Bakit Hindi Ka Crush ng Crush mo. It’s a very fast read too and highly sarcastic. It doesn’t sugar coat the truth or beat around the bush say, in answering the “bakit hindi ka crush ng crush mo” simply with “eh ayaw nga sayo eh” or “anong ibig sabihin ng sinabi nya na kailangan nya ng space” with direct “mang chichicks muna ako“.
These things are true but you do not hear them spoken as brazen as in this book. To put it short, this book doesn’t take or pitch bullshit. 🙂 It’s profound in its simplicity and I enjoyed it.
What I Did Not Like About It: Well, it’s a compilation of messages on Formspring, you can’t really ask for a lot more, can you?
Recommended for: Bakit Hindi Ka Crush ng Crush mo will mix well with the YA crowd.

i think it’s simple if you reverse the question: bakit hindi mo crush ang may crush sayo? then you’ll understand better. of course, the simple answer is the other person just doesn’t like you. 😆
i got this book from a friend, at meron din palang books na kaya kong basahin from cover to cover… pang YA pala ako.. hihihi…

I recently realized that I’ve been browsing and reading YA books these days. Now I know what book to read next. Hahaha (okay, nagfe-feeling ako dito, JOKE!) Kidding aside, I never thought Ramon Bautista would made sense in this book. I heard tagos-to-the-bones ang book. This reminds me of his youtube channel, ‘Tales from The Friendzone Zone’. Is he planning to be a love guru or something? 😀
