I love books; in fact most days, I’m sure I love books more than people. So this is a meme I saw on one of the lovely blogs I follow and I thought it’s so cool that I had to do it. I wish Elaine would do this too, and Derek – would love to see this side of you, you two!
Author you’ve Read the Most Books from: It’s probably J.K. Rowling. I read the entire Harry Potter series as a young girl. I’ve read two each from John Green, E.L. James, and David Sedaris. I don’t normally follow authors because it’s hard to find ones who offer something new and different in subsequent books.
Best Sequel Ever: Probably one of the Harry Potter books, can’t pick a favorite though!
Currently Reading: Winter of the World by Ken Follet (Fall of Giants #2).
Drink of Choice While Reading: Tea… but don’t tell that to my doctor.
E-reader or Physical Book? Physical books are sexy, no doubt about that, but I occasionally read eBooks too. It’s a good way to pass time when you don’t feel like lugging too much around, but I have to admit I don’t process eBooks that much.
Fictional Character You Probably Would Have Actually Dated In High School: Adam of Where She Went, Chip of Looking for Alaska, and Noah of The Notebook.
Glad You Gave This Book A Chance: Kill Two Birds and Get Stoned – the characters are just so real, totally insane!
Hidden Gem Book: The Picture of Dorian Gray – it reveals so much about the reader than the characters in the story. Warm Bodies is fantastic too, not shallow at all.
Important Moment in your Reading Life: Looking for Alaska. The book came into my life at the proper time and it is one of those that truly inspired me, touched my core. I can say the same thing with The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry, and Warm Bodies. There is something special about books making its way in our lives at that perfect time. The entire thing has the ability to change the course of our lives and it is one of the most beautiful things in the world.
Just Finished: Warm Bodies.
Kinds of Books You Won’t Read: I avert crime-related ones though I’ve given a few a shot, enjoyed some like And Then There Were None, and hated others, particularly Gone Girl.
Longest Book You’ve Read: It must be one of the Harry Potter books, though Winter of the World is quite substantial too, I reckon if I throw it to someone’s head it’ll cause a concussion.
Major book hangover because of: The Book Thief – all book lovers should read it.
Number of Bookcases You Own: I have one probably as tall as I am.
One Book You Have Read Multiple Times: I’ve not back read anything lately because I’m too keen on discovering new books, meeting new characters, getting suck into new worlds, and simply digesting new emotions but I know I’d love to read Looking for Alaska again, as well as The Book Thief, The Shadow of the Wind, and The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry.
Preferred Place To Read: It doesn’t matter – I’d read anywhere!
